Recommendations of the Advisory Committee on Immunization
Practices (ACIP)
According to the ACIP, influenza vaccination is the primary method for preventing influenza and its severe complications. Vaccination might prevent hospitalization and death among persons at high risk and may also reduce influenza-related respiratory illnesses and physician visits among all age groups, prevent otitis media among children and decrease work absenteeism among adults.
