OSHA Releases New Flu Guidance
The federal government has released pandemic flu preparedness guidance specifically for health care workers and their employers.
Earlier this year, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) issued general guidance for workplaces. According to OSHA, this new guidance is consistent with all previous pandemic preparedness guidance issued by various federal agencies.
OSHA’s new 104-page document addresses flu diagnosis and treatment, infection control, health care worker vaccination, personal protective equipment, preparedness planning and OSHA standards.
