Milcom and MNRS

Q: The typical physician can expect to be sued about once every 7-10 years. What products does Briggs offer hospital facilities for physician and procedure risk management?
A: Milcom Forms are a documentation line that can testify to the quality of your care and reduce your risk of defending your practice. Research shows there are 548 claims filed each day with an average lawsuit lasting 31 months. Awards average $687,500 in a malpractice suit. Each lawsuit paid out affects your rising cost of malpractice insurance premiums. Forms are updated through the Society of Teachers and Family Medicine (STFM) Clinical Forms Committee to maximize their functionality and reflect current standards of care.

Maternal and Newborn Record System (MNRS), previously known as Hollister, is endorsed by the Association of Women’s Health Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) and is a comprehensive risk management resource for OB. Documentation includes Prenatal records, Newborn Nursery Records, Inpatient Obstetric Records and Home Care Records. MNRS simplifies the documentation process, providing information to determine compensation and serving as the legal record. MNRS also helps health care professionals comply with the medical and technical documentation standards set by organizations such as The Joint Commission, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and the Association of Women’s Health Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN). It standardizes and improves communication between hospital, obstetrician, nursing staff, pediatrician, home care agency and insurer. MNRS gives your facility the flexibility to select and implement only those records necessary to address the unique risk management needs of your facility.
