Briggs Corporation Announces New Director of Market Research

DES MOINES, IA (February 28, 2006)
- Briggs Corporation recently announced that Jim Baker has joined the company as Director of Market Research. His responsibilities will include building an effective market research team and directing market research activities.

“Jim has held various sales and marketing leadership roles for National Medical Enterprises, QualMed HMO, CES, Foundation Health (HMO) and most recently, The Helping Home. He will be a valuable addition to the team in directing market research activities to deliver internal customer value and improve customer, competitor and industry knowledge for Briggs,” said Betti Duffy-Kerrigan, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales for Briggs Corporation.

Mr. Baker’s 20-year health care background includes several sales and marketing senior management positions in Acute Care, Physician and Clinics and insurers. Prior to Briggs, Mr. Baker led the Home Care start-up and sales of an entrepreneurial company in the senior housing industry that attracted investors and exceeded performance goals, as well as three major corporate partnerships in the first year. He has also designed and managed the integration of sales, marketing and public relations and created channel-driven referral systems leading to a significant increase in sales.

As a native of Des Moines, Iowa, Mr. Baker started his undergraduate studies at the University of Iowa in Iowa City. He received his Bachelor of Science at the University of San Francisco and completed his graduate work at San Francisco State in California.
