Briggs Expands Medical Supply Business - New Executive to Lead Growth of Products and Services
DES MOINES, IA (September 27, 2007) -
Briggs Medical Service Company, America’s leader in providing patient documentation solutions to health care providers, announced the expansion of its medical supplies business. Already recognized as a provider of high quality medical products, Briggs will be leveraging its deep customer understanding to create and deliver new products and solutions. To support this new initiative, Briggs has created a new business organization, Briggs Medical Supply Company, with dedicated leadership, resources and customer focus.
To lead this new company, Briggs has named Alan D. Yefsky Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Yefsky is responsible for the Company’s business affairs, including marketing, new product development, supply chain management and business strategy. Yefsky anticipates a significant expansion of Briggs product offerings, new customer-focused programs designed to simplify product selection and ordering, and initiatives to help customers reduce their operating costs.

Yefsky comes to Briggs from Rand McNally & Company, North America’s largest commercial mapmaker, where as Vice President of New Products & Strategy he led the development of several new product offerings, including the company’s entry into the emerging GPS navigation market. He brings nearly 20 years of experience in marketing, product development, finance, technology and distribution in the health care, industrial, and consumer marketplaces. He holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Yefsky will be based in the company’s offices in Waukegan, Illinois, in the northern suburbs of Chicago.
